Medical Description
Allegra-M tablet is an anti-allergic medicine. It is used for the management of symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as runny & stuffed nose, blockage in airways, sneezing, itching, watery eyes and other allergic symptoms. Allegra-M tablet contains a combination of Montelukast and Fexofenadine. It works by blocking the production of chemicals responsible for the production of symptoms of allergy. It should be taken as instructed by the doctor and in the correct doses and for the exact duration as prescribed. Your doctor may advise you to take the Montek LC tablet preferably at bedtime, as it may cause dizziness. Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history

Interactions of Allegra M Tablet
Interactions with other medicines

Medicines acting on the brain to produce calmness if taken along with Allegra-M may reduce the alertness and impairment of performance.

Concomitant use of antibiotic such as erythromycin or antifungal such as Ketoconazole can increase the levels of this medicine.

Maintain a minimum gap of 2 hours between the administration of Allegra-M and antacid medicines containing aluminium and magnesium.

Other medicines such as Phenobarbital, Phenytoin, Rifampin and Gemfibrozil should be used cautiously. Inform your doctor if you are taking any of these medicines.
Interactions with food items
Grapefrit juice, orange or apple may interfere with the activity of this medicine.

Dosage of Allegra M Tablet
Overdose
The symptoms of an overdose of Allegra-M include stomach pain, sleepiness, thirst feeling, headache, vomiting, altered mental state, drowsiness, dry mouth, tiredness and dizziness. In case of an overdose, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose
If you missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at the scheduled time. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.
