About BROMHEXINE TABLET 8MG
BROMHEXINE TABLET 8MG belongs to the class of medicines called ‘expectorants’ primarily used to treat cough associated with mucus. Coughing (dry or productive) is a body’s way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus, or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs, namely: Dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn’t produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways.
The BROMHEXINE TABLET 8MG contains bromhexine. It enhances mucus transport by reducing mucus viscosity and by activating the ciliated epithelium (mucociliary clearance). This secretolytic and secretomotor effect in the bronchial tract area relieves cough and facilitates expectoration.
BROMHEXINE TABLET 8MG is available in both oral syrup and tablet dosage forms. The syrup form of BROMHEXINE TABLET 8MG is taken with or without food with the help measuring cup as advised by your doctor.
