BROMHEXINE ELIXIR SYRUP

BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML belongs to the class of medicines called ‘expectorants’ primarily used to treat cough associated with mucus. Coughing (dry or productive) is a body’s way of clearing irritants (like allergens, mucus, or smoke) from airways and preventing infection. There are two types of coughs, namely: Dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is tickly and doesn’t produce any vicious or thick mucus, while a chesty cough (wet cough) means mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways.

The BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML contains bromhexine. It enhances mucus transport by reducing mucus viscosity and by activating the ciliated epithelium (mucociliary clearance). This secretolytic and secretomotor effect in the bronchial tract area relieves cough and facilitates expectoration.

BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML is available in both oral syrup and tablet dosage forms. The syrup form of BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML is taken with or without food with the help measuring cup as advised by your doctor. The oral tablet form of BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it. Your doctor will recommend how often you take BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML based on your medical condition. Some people may experience nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, headache, dizziness, skin rash, stomach upset, and diarrhea. Most of these side effects of BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

Tablet/capsule: Use BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML as prescribed by your doctor. Take BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML with or without food and swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it.Oral Liquid syrup: Shake the bottle well before use. Check the label for directions and take BROMHEXINE ELIXIR 100ML with or without food in doses as prescribed by a doctor with the help of a measuring cup.
