BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG belongs to the class of ‘narcotic analgesics‘ primarily used to treat moderate to severe pain post-surgery, muscle pain and migraine-related headaches. BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG is also used as an anaesthesia adjunct during srgery and early labour. Pain is a symptom triggered by the nervous system, which causes uncomfortable sensations in the body.

BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG contains ‘Butorphanol‘ which works by blocking the transmission of pain signals located in the brain that controls pain, pleasure and addictive behaviours. BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG also acts as pre-anaesthetic during surgery, antitussive (cough suppressant) and antiemetic (prevents vomiting) medication.

Take BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration based on the severity of your pain and response to treatment. Common side effects of BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG include headache, dizziness, sleepiness, vomiting, nausea and constipation. These side effects are not familiar to everyone and vary individually. If you notice any side effects that are not manageable, please consult your doctor.

Inform your doctor beforehand if you have liver, kidney or heart diseases, breathing problems, mood disorders, brain-related problems, gastrointestinal disorders, underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), drug addiction and urination problems before starting BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG. It is essential to let your doctor know if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or a breastfeeding mother. BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG causes dizziness and drowsiness, so do not drive until you are mentally alert. Avoid alcohol to further prevent the worsening of side effects. BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG is not recommended for people below 18 years of age.

Pain relief

BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG is available in oral tablet, nasal spray and subcutaneous (injected under the skin), intramuscular (injected into the muscle) or intravenous (injected into the vein) injection formulations. Tablet: Swallow the tablet with or without food, followed by a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it. Take BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG at a fixed time.Nasal spray: Your doctor or pharmacist will show you the proper way of using a nasal spray. Follow the instruction leaflet on priming the pump (removing air from the pump). Spray into one nostril in the dosage mentioned by your doctor. If the pain persists, your doctor may advise a second spray into the other nostril after 60-90 minutes. If the doctor advised you more than one spray, it is advised to lie down and administer the sprays to prevent dizziness and drowsiness due to higher doses. If you haven’t used the pump for 48 hours, you may need to prime the pump again before using.Injection: A healthcare professional will administer the injection form of BUTRUM INJECTION 2MG, do not self-administer.
