Candid TV Suspension 75ml is a dermatological combination medication primarily used to treat fungal skin infections, such as seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff) and tenia versicolor (a small patch of discoloured skin). Fungal infection occurs when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin. Symptoms of a fungal infection include a scaly rash, discoloured skin which is very itchy in nature. Some of the common fungal skin infections include ringworm of the body (tinea corporis), athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris), ringworm of the scalp (tinea capitis), discoloured skin patch (tinea versicolor), candida infection (cutaneous candidiasis) and nail fungal infection (onychomycosis).

Candid TV Suspension 75ml is composed of two medicines: ‘Clotrimazole’ (antifungal) and ‘Selenium sulfide’ (anti-infective). Clotrimazole works by stopping the growth of the fungi cell by causing damage and leaking out all content, thereby killing it. On the other hand, Selenium sulphide is an anti-infective agent that relieves itching and flaking of the scalp and removes the dry, scaly particles. Besides this, it also reduces skin damage due to infection by decreases flaking or scaling of the skin, which helps in new skin formation. Together Candid TV Suspension 75ml treats various fungal skin infections, yeast infections and dandruff from the scalp.

Candid TV Suspension 75ml is available in the form of lotion/suspension, foam and shampoo. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your infection. Candid TV Suspension 75ml is for topical (for skin use) only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth, vagina or open cut wound immediately rinse with cold water. Candid TV Suspension 75ml has common side effects like itching, dryness, redness, swelling, and burning sensation at the application site. However, these side effects are mild and temporary and go off after a few times. However, if these side effects persist, contact doctor or skin specialist.

Let your doctor know if you have any allergic reactions to Clotrimazole, Selenium sulfide or other antifungal medications. Do not put dressing or bandage on the affected area since it increases the risk of side effects. Please check with your doctor before using Candid TV Suspension 75ml if you have any liver, kidney diseases and other skin infections. Selenium Sulfide in Candid TV Suspension 75ml may harm the foetus when applied to a pregnant woman’s body surfaces and affect reproduction capacity. Hence it is advised that pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Candid TV Suspension 75ml. If nursing mothers apply Candid TV Suspension 75ml to their breasts for treatment, it is recommended to wash the affected area thoroughly before breastfeeding the baby.

Seborrheic dermatitis (dandruff), Tinea versicolor (discoloured skin patch)

For shampoo: Wash and clean hair properly before application. Massage a sufficient quantity of suspension to produce lather. Rinse after 5 minutes. Repeat application and rinse thoroughly. Use initially twice weekly or as directed by the doctor. For Tinea Versicolor: Apply suspension to the infected area. Allow to remain as per instructions given by the doctor.
