Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm is a combination of medicine primarily used to treat various fungal and bacterial skin infections. It treats skin inflammation due to allergies or irritants, eczema (inflamed, itchy, cracked and rough skin patches), psoriasis (skin cells multiply rapidly to form bumpy (uneven) red patches covered with white scales), insect bites and stings. Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm also effectively treats oropharyngeal candidiasis (also known as oral thrush, a fungal infection caused by yeast in the mouth) and vaginal yeast infections. Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria grow in the body and causes infection. Fungal infection is caused when a fungus invades and affects the tissue on the skin.

Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm is composed of three medicines: Clotrimazole (antifungal), Neomycin (antibiotic) and Beclometasone (steroid). Clotrimazole is an antifungal medication that treats fungal infections, such as vaginal yeast infections, oral thrush, athlete’s foot, jock itch and ringworm. It stops the growth of fungi by causing damage and leakage to the fungal cell membrane. Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used in treating bacterial and fungal infections of the skin. It prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions and has broad-spectrum activity against aerobic Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. On the other hand, Beclometasone is a corticosteroid and blocks prostaglandin’s production (chemical messengers) that make the affected area red, swollen and itchy. With its anti-inflammatory and vasoconstrictive properties, Beclometasone treats eczema (inflamed and itchy skin), psoriasis (skin cells build up and form scales and itchy, dry patches), and dermatitis (red and itchy skin).

Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm is available in the form of topical (skin use) cream and ear drops. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your infection. The cream form of Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm is for topical (for skin use) only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth or vagina, rinse with cold water. Common side effects of Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm include erythema (redness of the skin), stinging, blistering, peeling, pruritus, urticarial (irritation of the skin causing an urge to scratch), itching, dryness and burning sensation at the application site.

Let your doctor know if you are sensitive to Clotrimazole, Neomycin, Beclometasone or any other medications. Do not use topical Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm on open wounds, blisters and lesions. Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm is not for oral, ophthalmic (eye) or intravaginal use. Do not put dressing or bandage on the affected area since it increases the risk of side effects. Please check with your doctor before using Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm, if you have dehydration problems, cataract or glaucoma, diabetes, gastrointestinal diseases, hearing problems (ototoxicity), osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), muscle weakness, liver and kidney diseases. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult the doctor before starting Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm. Sometimes, antibiotic medications can cause antibiotic resistance. In such cases, your doctor may prescribe other antibiotics, you are not resistant to.

Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm is available in the form of topical (skin use) cream and ear drops. Cream: Apply a thin layer of cream with clean and dry hands on the skin’s affected areas. You can also apply Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm with a piece of clean cotton wool or gauze swab. Gently rub the medicine into the skin until it is disappeared. Wash your hands before and after applying Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm on the affected areas unless the treatment is for hands.Ear drops: Do not touch the dropper and hold it close to the ear. Gently squeeze the dropper and put the drops inside the ear. Your doctor will advise the appropriate dose that suits your infection. Candiderma Plus Cream 10gm is for external use only. If the medicine gets into your eyes, nose, mouth or vagina, rinse with cold water.
