About Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s
Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s belongs to the group of antibiotic medicines called ‘cephalosporin‘ used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s contains ‘Cefpodoxime‘ which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and negative group of bacteria. Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s kills the bacteria (bactericidal) and helps in treating and preventing the spread of bacterial infections.
Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s should be preferably taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The dose of Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s can vary depending upon your condition and the severity of the infection. It is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), abdominal pain, loss of appetite, bloating, skin rash and itching. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Do not take Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Do not take antacids and anti-ulcer medicines along with Cefoprox Dt 100mg Tablet 10’s; maintain a gap of 2-3 hours between both.
