YOUR CHILD’S MEDICINE AT A GLANCE

Aristogyl Suspension is a medicine that has antibiotic and antiparasitic properties. It is given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial and parasitic infections. It may also be given in combination therapy for the treatment of peptic ulcer disease.

Give Aristogyl Suspension to your child orally, with food, preferably at a fixed time. Giving it with food helps prevent the risk of developing a stomach upset. The usually prescribed frequency is three times a day, once each in the morning, afternoon, and at bedtime, keeping a gap of 6 hours between two doses. Always give the dose as prescribed by the doctor since they depend on the severity and type of infection, body weight, and age of your child. If your child vomits within 30 minutes of intake, repeat the same dose but never double up the dose if it is time for the next dose.

Some children may develop minor and temporary side effects after taking this medicine. These include nausea, vomiting, metallic taste, headache, loss of appetite, abdominal cramps, red-brown urine, and mild skin rash. These side effects usually go away once your child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case they persist for long or start bothering your child, you must consult your child’s doctor without any delay.

Your child’s doctor must be aware if your child has ever had any previous episode of allergy, heart problem, blood disorder, liver impairment, and kidney malfunction. This will guide the doctor in planning your child’s overall treatment.

BENEFITS OF ARISTOGYL SUSPENSION FOR YOUR CHILD

In Treatment of Bacterial infections

Aristogyl Suspension is given to children as a prophylaxis (preventive measure) or as a treatment therapy for a wide range of bacterial infections. These infections may include tooth abscess, gum infection, pneumonia, skin infection, bite wound infection, brain abscess, tetanus, blood infection, infections of inner layers of heart, bones, and joint infection. Aristogyl Suspension is also given to children for genital tract infections, urinary tract infections, and gastrointestinal infections, including diarrhea, dysentery, peritonitis, and appendicitis.

This medicine helps clear up the infection by stopping the bacteria from multiplying and growing. In most cases, the infection starts showing improvement within 3 to 5 days of regular dosing. However, you must still finish the full course of the medicine. Stopping it abruptly may worsen your child’s condition or cause infection recurrence.

In Treatment of Peptic ulcer disease

Aristogyl Suspension helps eradicate H. Pylori bacteria which is responsible for causing peptic ulcers in children. For peptic ulcers, it is generally given in combination with other medicines for around 10-14 days. Keep giving Aristogyl Suspension to your child as prescribed for it to be effective, even if the symptoms seem to disappear.
