About CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML
CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML belongs to the group of antibiotic medicines called ‘cephalosporin‘ used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, lower respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue. Bacterial infections are caused due to the multiplication of harmful bacteria inside or on the body. Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick. CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML does not work against infections caused by the virus, including cold and flu.
CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML contains ‘Cefpodoxime‘ which is a broad-spectrum antibiotic effective against both gram-positive and negative group of bacteria. CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML works by preventing the formation of bacterial cell covering (cell wall), which is necessary for their survival. Thereby, CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML kills the bacteria (bactericidal) and helps in treating and preventing the spread of bacterial infections.
CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML should be preferably taken with food to avoid stomach upset. The oral tablet form of CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML should be swallowed as a whole with water and should not be crushed or chewed. The liquid form of CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML should be taken by mouth using the measuring cup provided by the pack. The dose of CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML can vary depending upon your condition and the severity of the infection. It is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will, in fact, stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). In some cases, you may experience certain common side-effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea (watery or loose stool), abdominal pain, loss of appetite, bloating, skin rash and itching. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
Do not take CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML on your own as self-medication may lead to antibiotic-resistance in which antibiotics fail to act against specific bacterial infections. Talk to your doctor before taking CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML if you have had inflammation in bowel, kidney or liver problems. Do not take antacids and anti-ulcer medicines along with CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML; maintain a gap of 2-3 hours between both. Avoid taking CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless prescribed by a doctor. CEFOPROX 50MG SUSPENSION 30ML may cause dizziness, so be cautious while driving. Avoid alcohol consumption to prevent unpleasant side-effects. Inform your doctor about all the medicines you are taking and about your health condition to rule out any unpleasant side-effects.
