Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s is a cephalosporin-type antibiotic primarily taken to treat various types of bacterial infections of the ears, lungs, and urinary tract. Additionally, it is also prescribed to treat STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). Infectious or harmful bacteria can make you sick and reproduce quickly in your body. These harmful bacteria produce chemicals known as toxins, which can damage tissue and make you sick.
Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s kills the bacterial cell by blocking the chemical (mucopeptides) released by the outer layer (cell wall) of the bacteria. In turn, Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s weakens and destroys the bacterial cell wall. It is a broad range of antibiotic that helps in fighting various types of bacteria. Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections
Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s should be taken as prescribed by your doctor, preferably with a meal to avoid stomach upset and at fixed intervals every day for best results. The dose of Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s can vary depending upon your condition and severity of the infection. Also, it is recommended to complete the course of medicine even if you feel better as it is an antibiotic, and leaving it in between may lead to even severe infection that will in fact stop responding to the antibiotic as well (antibiotic resistance). The common side effects of Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s include diarrhoea, nausea, loose stools, abdominal pain, dyspepsia (Indigestion), and vomiting. As far as it is known, Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s may be used in pregnancy. Consideration should be given to discontinuing nursing temporarily during treatment with cefixime.

Urinary tract infections, upper respiratory tract infections (URTI), lower respiratory tract infection, gonorrhoea (cervical/urethral), Ear infections (acute otitis media), pharyngitis (inflammation of the pharynx) and tonsillitis (inflammation of the tonsils).

Like all medicines, Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s can also cause side-effects, although not everybody experiences them. A most common side effect of Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s is diarrhoea, nausea, loose stools, abdominal pain, dyspepsia (Indigestion), and vomiting. Most of the side effects of Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects are persistent, reach out to your doctor. Drug Warning
Do not take Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s if you are allergic to Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s or other macrolide antibiotics. Hypersensitivity reactions including shock and fatalities have been reported with Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s. Discontinue use if there is a reaction and reach out to your doctor immediately. Tell your doctor if you have liver problems (jaundice), muscle problem (myasthenia gravis), heart rhythm disorder (arrhythmia), electrolyte imbalance (low potassium or magnesium level). In rare case, use of Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s can cause diarrhoea, so in case if you have watery or bloody diarrhoea, stop taking Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s and call your doctor. However, do not take any anti-diarrheal medicine until your doctor tells you. It is not known whether Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s harms the baby in pregnancy or not. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, planning for pregnancy or breastfeeding before using Ceftas 200mg Tablet 10’s.
