Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s belongs to the group of neurological medication called ‘Anticonvulsant’ (hydantoins) used to control various epileptic conditions (fits), prevent seizures during/after brain surgery or after traumatic brain injury (TBI). Besides this, Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s also treat trigeminal neuralgia (facial nerve pain). Epilepsy is the central nervous system’s disorder characterized by a sudden rush of electrical activity in the brain leading to seizures, with unusual behaviour, and loss of awareness.
Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s contains ‘Phenytoin’ which works by controlling the overactivity of the brain that causes seizures episodes (fits). Our brain cells (neurons) works by firing at a certain rate to function normally. However, during an epileptic attack or seizure, our neurons are forced to work with rapid speed compared to normal condition. Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s helps prevent neurons from working at very fast speed thereby preventing all brain cells firing together rapidly in an uncontrolled way. As a result episodes of seizures is stopped at its initial point only. Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s is not effective for the treatment of absence (petit mal) seizures.
Take Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s with or without food. You are advised to take Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you, depending on your medical condition. You may experience certain common side-effects such as weakness, drowsiness, dizziness, restlessness, and constipation in some cases. Most of these side-effects do not require medical attention and will resolve gradually over time. However, you are advised to talk to your doctor if you experience these side-effects persistently.
To treat your condition, effectually continue taking Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s for as long as your doctor has prescribed it. Please do not skip any doses or stop taking Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s suddenly without consulting your doctor as it may lead to increased seizures. You should immediately stop taking Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s if you develop any skin rashes (Stevens-Johnson syndrome), swollen glands (anticonvulsant hypersensitivity syndrome – AHS) or have suicidal thoughts. Do not skip any doses or stop taking Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s suddenly without consulting your doctor as Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s may cause increased seizures. Do not take Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s if you are allergic to any of its contents. Talk to your doctor if you have heart, kidney, or liver problems. Avoid taking Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s if you are pregnant or breast-feeding unless prescribed by your doctor. Avoid alcohol consumption while taking Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s as it might cause unpleasant side-effects. Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s should not be used by children unless prescribed. Let your doctor know if you have diabetes, as intake of Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s affects the blood sugar level. Intake of Celetoin 300mg Tablet 1’s may cause dizziness so be cautious while driving or operating any heavy machinery.
