Adult Dosage: Vaginal Cervical priming, induction and augmentation of labor As gel: Apply 500 mcg, may repeat 6 hr later, if needed. Max: 1.5 mg/24 hr. Labor induction As gel: 1 mg, then 1 or 2 mg 6 hr later, if needed. Max: 3 mg. As pessary: 3 mg, then 3 mg 6-8 hr later, if needed. Max: 6 mg. Extra-amniotic Pregnancy termination in the 2nd trimester As 100 mcg/mL soln: Instill 1 mL, followed by 1-2 mL at 2-hr intervals according to response
