INTRODUCTION
Lacsoft Cream contains Ammonium lactate (lactic acid neutralized with ammonium hydroxide) 12 %. Lactic acid belongs to a class of drugs called keratolytics and humectants. It moisturizes and softens skin by dissolving the horny substance (keratin) thereby helping in removal of dead skin cells and aids in hydration of the skin.
Lactic acid is used externally for the treatment of dry, scaly skin (xerosis), ichthyosis vulgaris (a skin condition that causes dry, dead skin cells to accumulate in patches on the surface of your skin) and temporary relief of itching associated with these conditions.
